Location. The Maui Prince Hotel Makena Resort fronts Makena Beach in Makena, Hawaii. This property stands adjacent to Makena Golf Courses.
Hotel Features. A corridor of oleander and blossom laden trees leads to an open air lobby. The atrium lobby is embellished with Asian inspired gardens, waterfalls and streams. Six resort dining options include Prince Court that specializes in contemporary island cuisine. Hakone sushi bar serves traditional Japanese cuisine while Caf? Kiowai prepares buffet style and ? la carte breakfasts at a glass sheltered, garden view terrace. The Makena Clubhouse overlooks the 10th hole at the Makena South Golf Course. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee. A total of 65,000 square feet of outdoor function space combines with 7,000 square feet of indoor space to accommodate events of up to 350 people. Recreational amenities include an outdoor saltwater pool, a children's pool, a spa tub and a limited hour fitness center equipped with two massage tables, and cardiovascular and weight training equipment. The resort's two 18 hole championship golf courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Six tennis courts are located adjacent to the golf courses. The Prince Keiki Club children's program offers supervised activities for children ages five through 12.
Guestrooms. The eight story Maui Prince Hotel Makena Resort offers 310 air conditioned guestrooms that include refrigerators with complimentary bottled water. Coffeemakers are stocked with Kona coffee. High speed Internet access is available for a fee. Rooms include high speed wired and wireless Internet access for a fee, cable television, and CD and DVD players. Bathrooms feature marble vanities, bathrobes, slippers and complimentary toiletries.
Expert Tip. Upon arrival, guests of the resort are greeted with keepsake shell leis and chilled oshibori face towels.
Renovation Notice:
The hotel is scheduled to close one of its two golf courses beginning May 27, 2008. The estimated completion date is November 2009. These dates are subject to change.
